Hi there! I’m Jer Foley, and alongside my wife Vanessa, we warmly welcome you to Kenmarerentals.com. Our website is dedicated to showcasing our self-catering holiday homes in and around Kenmare. What sets us apart is that the homes you see on our site are actually our own homes. So when you make a booking with us, you’re booking directly with us, ensuring the best value for your stay.

In these challenging times, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our guests. Our entire team follows the guidelines set by H.S.E and Bord Failte. We adapt our practices accordingly, from implementing thorough cleaning checklists to providing staff training based on the recommendations of HSE, Bord Failte, and the IHF.

Hospitality has been our passion for as long as I can remember. I started working in bars as a teenager, and eventually, an opportunity arose to acquire a closed bar on Henry Street in the mid-90s. That’s when we transformed it into O’Donnabhain’s, a bar that has become one of the most photographed in Ireland. In 2000, we expanded by adding a guesthouse called Bedroom behind the bar. While the bar maintains its original charm, the guesthouse offers modern accommodations in a fantastic town center location.

Due to the high number of returning guests who often brought along friends, we noticed an increasing demand for self-catering options. This led us to introduce Carrig Beag, located on Market Street and Vanessa’s childhood home. Carrig Beag is part of the beautiful Victorian Terraces that still adorn this town. Following its success, we further developed Bun and Bar Cill Atah, two luxurious mountainside homes situated on 14 acres overlooking Kenmare Bay, the Macgillycuddy’s Reeks, and the Kenmare Mountains.

To cater to families and small groups, we created Ard Mullen, a collection of three and four-bedroom self-catering properties in a peaceful residential area. Ard Mullen is conveniently located on the Ring of Kerry, just outside Kenmare.

The Gap Of Dunloe

This mountain pass splits the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks and the Purple Mountain Group ranges. A traditional day trip involves riding in a horse trap or walking (10kms) through the Gap of Dunloe amidst rugged mountains, returning by boat through Killarney’s three famous magical lakes.
